The Northeastern Dance Academy celebrated the opening of its new location and became the newest member of the Logan County Chamber of Commerce with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday.

Now located at 122 N. Second Street, NDA offers classes for boys and girls ages two and up.

“We really pride ourselves on providing children with accurate, relevant and fun dance training, and we do it in a way that is really safe and encouraging and allows them to be themselves. We are truly happy to be here at Sterling and proud to serve our community,” said Ashley Lynch, owner of the studio with Angie Pomeroy.

Fall registrations are now open and are filling up quickly. Classes start on September 6 and will take place from Monday to Thursday. Offerings include ballet, jazz, pointe, hip hop, tap, acro for dancers, and combo.

New this year, a Dance With Me class for children from 6 months to two years old on Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. This is an introductory music and movement class for dancers with their parent/guardian. The six-week session begins September 8. The cost is $35 per six-week session.

NDA organizes two community recitals each year, one in the spring and one in December. For this year’s Christmas recital, the studio will once again perform the “Nutcracker Remix” on December 17 and 18 at the Dorothy Corsberg Theater at Northeastern Junior College. Registration for the show is now open.
