Michele’s Dance Academy (MDA) 41st Annual Dance Extravaganza will be presented virtually from the Academy Studio Theater at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 27 (for Little Stars, Hip Hop for Toddlers, All Grades A and B, and Ballet Folklorico) , and at 6 p.m. and again at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 28 (for grades C and D classes and Las Cruces Chamber Ballet). The 7 p.m. show on May 28 also includes musical theater and cheerleading.

MDA also offers a Rainbow Unicorn Activity Camp and a Musical Theater Camp. Both will take place from 9 a.m. to noon, Monday through Thursday, June 28 through July 8. The cost for each camp is $150. Activity camp is for ages 3-6 and includes dance, exercise, drama, arts and crafts, snacks and more. The Musical Theater Camp is aimed at ages 7-13 and welcomes attendees to “the weekly Fairy Tale Council Council meeting. Led by Rapunzel, a handsome prince and a (recovering) wicked witch, the council offers character-building assistance to Cinderella, the Big Bad Wolf, Jack and the Giant and more.

MDA is a non-profit organization established in 1984 “to promote dance opportunities in the local community,” said founder Kevin Self.

MDA’s 7,000 square foot building at 1195 E. Madrid Ave. includes two studios, wood floors and large dressing rooms. Panoramic windows and CCTV are available in the lobby.

MDA offers training in classical ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, contemporary and musical theater for all levels of advancement.
